Pumpkin Xi Pan

Pumpkin Xi Pan

Xi Pan 喜板 is one my favorite kuih. But normally we only manage to buy the Red Xi Pan from Pasar Pagi, or Pasar Malam. Found the recipe from Christine's Lifestyle Blog, read through the recipe , very interesting and also healthy by using "PUMPKIN'. So, i decided to try the recipe...

The result not bad... The outlook may be still need to improve, because all the size is not standard although i have try to weight for each "Xi Pan" with same weight. 


Lucky the taste is good... 


Ingredient 
(A)
2 tsp Yeast
4 tsp Plain Flour 
2 tbsp water 

(B) 
400g Plain Flour
200g Tepung Pulut
200g Pumpkin (Steam when its hot)
150g Castor Sugar
Water (depend on your dough)
50g oil
Banana leave 

Step

  1. Mix well the (A), and leave it aside for 30 mins
  2. Add in the sugar into Pumpkin.
  3. Put the 2 flour into a bowl, add in pumpkin mixture and enough water to mix well to become a dough. Please do know over knee the dough.
  4. Add in the oil into the dough and knee well.
  5. Size the pumpkin Xi Pan into around 60g each, use some oil to do it. and place on the Banana Leave. Leave aside and rest for 40 - 60 mins, until double size.
  6. Ready to steam. Steam for 15 mins. (for my version, i just steam 15 mins and take out)
